A bantamweight division attraction has been added to Bellator 222 according to MMA Fighting as Mike Kimbel is going to be in action against Sebastian Ruiz.
Kimbel (2-1-0) is looking to rebound from his first professional MMA defeat, which came against John Douma at Bellator 215. Kimbel has spent his entire professional MMA career in Bellator MMA, defeating the duo of Geoffrey Then and Alex Potts. Kimbel competed three times as a professional MMA fighter and none of those bouts went past the opening round.
Ruiz (2-2-0) is going to be making his Bellator MMA debut in this bout and does so despite not having won a fight in just about a year. Ruiz has competed twice under the TKO MMA banner, dropping bouts to the duo of Jesse Arnett and Louis Jourdain. Ruiz has competed a total of four times as a professional MMA fighter and just one of those bouts went to the judges scorecards.
Bellator 222 takes place on Friday, June 14 from Madison Square Garden in New York, New York with Chael Sonnen and Lyoto Machida headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which is going to be airing live on the Paramount Network.
