A women’s bantamweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night Sacramento according to Marcel Dorff of MMA DNA as #10 Sara McMann is in action against Nicco Montano.
McMann (11-5-0) is returning to action since the birth of her second child, but also enters the bout on a two fight losing streak. McMann hasn’t picked up a victory in over two years, with that last win coming against Gina Mazany at UFC Fight Night 105. McMann has previously challenged for the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Title, losing to then champion Ronda Rousey at UFC 170.
Montano (4-2-0) is competing for the first time since winning the UFC Women’s Flyweight Title at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 26 Finale. Montano has since been stripped of the title due to a lack of title defenses and this will mark her UFC Women’s Bantamweight Division debut. Montano is also a former King Of The Cage Women’s Flyweight Champion, defeating Jamie Milanowski to win the gold at KOTC: Social Disorder in October of 2016.
UFC Fight Night Sacramento takes place on Saturday, July 13 from a location to be announced with a main event to be announced. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
