A bantamweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night: Holm vs. Aldana as Timur Valiev faces Jamall Emmers.
MMA Junkie first reported the bout, who’s spot on the card isn’t known at this time.
Valiev (16-2-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this bout and does so on the strength of a six fight winning streak. Valiev also won eight of nine in the WSOF/PFL, with notable wins coming over Ed West, Chris Gutierrez, Josenaldo Silva and Bekbulat Magomedov. Valiev has picked up sixteen wins as a professional MMA fighter and nine of them came by way of decision.
Emmers (17-5-0) is winless thus far under the UFC banner, having dropped a bout to Giga Chikadze at UFC 248. Emmers also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 11, suffering a second round knockout loss to Julian Erosa. Emmers previously challenged for the RFA Bantamweight Title, losing to then champion Thiago Moises at RFA 38.
UFC Fight Night: Holm vs. Aldana takes place on Saturday, August 1 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Holly Holm and Irene Aldana headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
