Report: Yoel Romero Injured, Off UFC Fight Night: Munhoz vs. Edgar

The co-main event of UFC Fight Night: Munhoz vs. Edgar has taken a major hit as Yoel Romero is injured and out of a bout against Uriah Hall.

BJPenn.com first reported the news. The nature of Romero’s injury or how long he will be out of action for has not been confirmed. Hall is expected to remain on the card as UFC officials are seeking a replacement opponent.

Hall (15-9-0) enters the contest on the strength of a two-fight winning streak, defeating the duo of Bevon Lewis and Antonio Carlos Jr. Hall has not suffered a defeat in almost two years, last losing to Paulo Costa at UFC 226 via second-round TKO. Hall made it to the finals of The Ultimate Fighter 17, losing to Kelvin Gastelum.

UFC Fight Night: Munhoz vs. Edgar is set for Saturday, August 22 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Pedro Munhoz and Frankie Edgar will headline the card. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
