Former New Japan Pro-Wrestling talent Karl Fredericks made an appearance at the January 20 NXT live event in Fort Pierce, FL.
Fredericks confronted Axiom and attacked him.

It was reported on January 10 by PWInsider that Fredericks had signed with WWE and had already started at the WWE Performance Center.
WWE has officially confirmed the signing of Fredericks.
In August 2022, Fredericks announced that he was no longer under contract with NJPW and that he wouldn't be re-signing with the company.
