Bellator President Scott Coker is preparing for Bellator 172, which will be taking place this weekend, featuring Fedor Emelianenko and Matt Mitrione in the main event.

The first big Bellator MMA event of the year was Bellator 170, which saw Tito Ortiz defeat Chael Sonnen by first round submission, it was Ortiz’s retirement fight.

Shortly after the fight concluded, UFC veteran Dan Hardy stated that he felt the fight between Ortiz and Sonnen looked like it was fixed.

“Who’s making the accusations? It’s a UFC commentator, or a UFC fighter, or somebody who belongs to another league,” Coker said to MMA Junkie. “They’re just trying to throw stones. Even Dana came out and said there was no way. I feel like if you’re going to make accusations like that, you better have something to back it up. If you don’t, go talk to Viacom legal.”

Coker is now looking to put the whole situation behind the promotion, with Bellator MMA already having five events scheduled for the next few months.

Bellator 172 takes place on Saturday, February 18 from the SAP Center in San Jose, California with Fedor Emelianenko and Matt Mitrione headlining. Fightful will be providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast as well.
