Fightful's own Matt Riddle is getting a lot of interest from WWE, namely one Triple H.
In a recent conference call, the topic of Riddle possibly joining the company came up and here is what was said about him. HHH mentioned that Riddle had a successful workout with WWE, and the company believes in second chances, but wants him to prove himself first. He noted that Riddle has a bright future, which the WWE helped him out with.
WWE had been interested in Riddle for some time now, bringing him in for a WWE tryout. Although WWE never signed Riddle, interest had remained there as the former UFC fighter continued wrestling all over the world. Riddle mentioned on the Fightful Brocast that WWE passed on him because of his ties to marijuana, but hooked him up with EVOLVE.
Riddle had been working as a pro wrestler since 2014 after retiring from his MMA career where he was 8-3 with 2 no contests. As a professional wrestler, Riddle has wrestled against big names such as Zack Sabre Jr, Katsuyori Shibata and Kyle O'Reilly. He is currently the Progress Wrestling Atlas Championship after an answering an open challenge from then-champion Rampage Brown.
Riddle also joined Fightful.com several months ago, co-hosting the weekly Fightful Brocast alongside managing editor Sean Ross Sapp.
