Sasha Banks spent the bulk of her on-screen time in NXT as a heel but, for the most part, has wrestled as a babyface since joining the WWE main roster.
During an appearance on a recent episode of The Steve Austin Show, Banks revealed which side she enjoys most from a performing standpoint.
"I do enjoy working heel," Banks told Austin on the podcast. "I feel more comfortable, I feel more free, I feel like I'm being more of myself because I can really be like 'yeah I'm the s---.' … in today's day and age, I feel like all these babyfaces are really the heels and all these heels are really the babyfaces because that's what the fans are cheering now. They want to see people kick ass."
Banks made her name in WWE as a heel for the NXT brand, turning heel in the fall of 2013 and adopting her "Boss" character. She's been a babyface for the vast bulk of her time on the main roster, and the entirety of her time on Raw since the brand split, a span that has seen her win the Raw Women's Title four times.
"I'm still learning to be a baby[face] everyday," Banks told Austin. "The number one reason I love it is the kids. I love seeing little kids dressed up as [me]."
Meanwhile, a heel turn for Banks has not happened ... not yet, at least. She noted she is "kind of waiting for them to pull that trigger … They've teased it so many times where I'm like, is this ever going to happen? But right now let me just enjoy and embrace this babyface role and liking the kids. I never had the kids like me before."
