The Dusty Rhodes Classic is returning.
On Wednesday, NXT General Manager William Regal announced via WWE's twitter that NXT will be holding the third Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. It is a tournament which first occurred in 2015 after the passing of Dusty Rhodes. There was a second tournament in 2016 but there was none in 2017.

Previous winners of the tournament were Finn Balor and Samoa Joe in 2015 and the Authors of Pain in 2016. Finn Balor and Samoa Joe did not move onto a tag team championship match. The Authors of Pain went on to become champions at the following NXT Takeover event. According to Regal, the 2018 winners will be guaranteed a championship opportunity at NXT Takeover: New Orleans on April 7th.
The 2018 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic will begin in two weeks.
