Adam Cole makes a successful return to the ring.
On the October 30 edition of AEW Dynamite, Adam Cole made his return to ring by competing in a singles match against Buddy Matthews. Notably, this was Cole's first match since September 2023, as he suffered a serious ankle injury just weeks later at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam.
After nearly being taken away from the match due to re-aggravated ankle injury, Cole was able to bounce back and clock Buddy Matthews with a Panama Sunrise. Matthews rolled out of the ring, but Cole followed up and spiked him with a Panama Sunrise on the floor. Cole then rolled in the ring and sent Matthews to sleep with a Last Shot to pick up the pinfall win.
So Adam Cole sells him re-injuring his foot earlier in the match and then pulls off 2 Panama Sunrises, one on the second rope on the turnbuckle and another outside the ring, and doesn't sell it after that?

Am I missing something or is this just bad on his part?#AEWDynamite pic.twitter.com/kwSiU6POgO
After the match, Cole shook the hand of Buddy Matthews. The lights went off and when they came back on, Malakai Black appeared in the ring shaking hands with Cole instead.
What did Adam Cole just agree to with House of Black?!
