The NXT Championship match is set for TakeOver: Portland as Adam Cole will defend his title against Tommaso Ciampa.
Ciampa had to relinquish the NXT Championship a year ago following a neck injury. He never lost it in the ring and he's never gotten a one-on-one rematch for the belt. Ciampa made a statement on Wednesday, taking out Roderick Strong, Kyle O'Reilly, and Bobby Fish backstage before making his way to the ring to call out Cole. Like his Undisputed Era partners, Cole was laid out by Ciampa, who put the NXT Champion through a table. The match was made official as Ciampa signed the contract in ink and blood.
