While Sanity was successful in their title shot at WWE NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III, the same cannot be said for Ember Moon and her quest for the WWE NXT Women’s Title.
Asuka won the rematch between the two with the Asuka Lock in an amazing match.
Fightful’s Ryan Cook has been providing live coverage of the show and here are the ending moments of the title match from his coverage:
Moon hits a double foot stomp off of the top rope onto Asuka when she gets caught in the tree of woe. Moon hits the Eclipse for a near fall before hitting a superkick for another near fall. Asuka locks in the cross armbar before transitioning into the Asuka Lock before Moon taps for the win.
Winner: Asuka via submission
The victory means that Asuka keeps her historic title reign alive for a little longer, which has lasted over 500 days now.
This was a rematch from WWE NXT Takeover: Orlando, where Asuka used some nefarious means to win that first meeting.
