Billie Starkz Says She Didn't Announce AEW Contract Signing Because She Didn't Want To Be Looked At Differently

Billie Starkz explains why she didn't reveal AEW signing earlier.

Billie Starkz has been a regular on AEW and ROH television for the better part of 2023, but she has not gotten the All Elite graphic. Though Tony Schiavone said Starkz had signed in April, Starkz didn't confirm her signing until October.

Speaking to Alicia Atout, Starkz commented on being part of AEW.

"I'm very happy with the place that I'm at now. I did it for a while, that I did sign the contract, there was a very long time that nobody had any clue, but I was definitely under contract for a minute," she said.

When asked why she didn't say something sooner, Starkz replied, "I just felt that I wanted to stay where I was at in wrestling, even though I was progressing faster, I didn't want anybody else to look at me differently. Being contracted at 18, I get that a lot of people were happy and truly happy for my success, but there was part of me that was like, 'I don't know that I'm ready for this.'"

Starkz is currently a "Minion In Training" under ROH Women's Champion Athena on ROH TV. She teamed with Athena in a loss to Diamante & Mercedes Martinez on the October 26 episode of ROH.
