Billy Gunn leaves his boots in the ring on the July 22 episode of AEW Saturday Collision.
Coming into the July 22 episode of AEW Saturday Collision, Billy Gunn, Max Caster, and Anthony Bowens thought they would become the AEW World Trios Champions. However, in the match against The House of Black, they came up short, with Billy being dropped by Malakai Black's Black Mass.
After the match, both Buddy Matthews & Malakai Black appeared to whisper something to Billy, who then proceeded to unlace his boots and leave them in the middle of the ring. When Max Caster & Anthony Bowens tried to talk to Billy, he brushed past them and stormed to the back.
Is this the end of a career...?

It is a tradition that when a wrestler leaves his boots in the middle of the ring, his career is finished. Triple H did that at WWE WrestleMania 38 after he announced his retirement. However, Cody Rhodes once left his boots in the ring after a match with Malakai Black, only to return stronger than ever.
Fightful will continue to monitor the story concerning Billy Gunn's wrestling career and report updates as they are made available.
