Booker T clears the air regarding his dealings with CM Punk.
Over the years, Booker T has given his opinion on many things in the world of wrestling on his Hall of Fame podcast. During his time in UFC and AEW, Booker was not shy in sharing his opinion on Punk. Booker has also said to not take him seriously when he's sharing his opinion on Punk.
On Tuesday's NXT, Punk embraced Booker before stepping in the ring.
Speaking on Hall of Fame, Booker commented on his moment with Punk.
"I don't know if you guys noticed. On Tuesday night NXT, I ran into CM Punk. We had words. The thing is, it was refreshing. I know people were tripping when they saw me and CM Punk. CM Punk and I we really never had any beef. We really never did. People really thought that when he was in AEW. I don't think CM Punk and I really ever had any beef. Did I say some things about CM Punk specifically when he was in the UFC? Yeah, I did. I don't think I said anything derogatory or mean-spirited towards CM Punk at all," he said.
Booker said he looked at his comments towards Punk as constructive criticism and was just giving his opinion on how he felt about things.
"We too old to be thinking about beef," he said.
Booker didn't comment further on what Punk may have said to him as they hugged. He did say that Punk stayed long after the show to meet with fans.
Punk is set to serve as the special guest referee for the NXT Title bout between Ethan Page and Trick Williams on the October 1st episode of NXT.
