Bryan Danielson: Blackpool Combat Club Book Club Hasn't Settled On A Book In A While, It'll Come Back

The latest on the BCCBC.

Bryan Danielson previously said that the Blackpool Combat Club had a book club, as it helped him, Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta remain connected. However, in May, he said that it had fallen apart in part due to Jon Moxley competing in Japan and Wheeler Yuta being sidelined with an injury.

Speaking with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Bryan Danielson provided on the BCC book club and noted that circumstances had forced them to go on hiatus, but he was confident that the group would get back to it.

“We haven’t settled on a book in a while. We will. A lot happened–Wheeler was hurt, Jon was in Japan. But it will come back soon," Danielson said.

Reading has been part of Danielson's wrestling career for years, dating back to his time in the New Japan Dojo, as he brought up how he read John Irving's "The World According to Garp". He recalled how he stayed in because he did not want to spend any money.

“I love that book. I read it in one day at the New Japan Dojo in 2003. We had done a Tokyo Dome show in early May, and Rocky and I were staying for the Super Juniors tournament. There was only something like 10 days in between, so they had us train at the dojo. We had a day off at the dojo, but I didn’t want to spend any money. I went for a walk and stayed the rest of the day in my room reading World According to Garp, and it was a long book–but I couldn’t put it down," Danielson said.

Danielson also noted that he has been reading a lot of poetry and short stories.

Bryan Danielson will face “Hangman” Adam Page in the finals of the Owen Hart Foundation Men's Tournament on the July 10 episode of AEW Dynamite. Fightful will have coverage of the show as it airs.
