Bryan Danielson Challenges Kazuchika Okada To A Rematch At Wrestle Kingdom 18, Vows To Break Okada's Arm

Bryan Danielson has laid down the challenge for a rematch with Kazuchika Okada, first time in the Tokyo Dome.

The two men had previously faced off at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2023, in a dream match that left Bryan with a broken arm that kept him out of action until AEW All Out. The injury occurred on an elbow drop from Okada.

In the end, Danielson would lock in a modified version of the LeBell lock to tap out the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion. That would not be the end of the pair's rivalry however.

On the October 25th edition of AEW Dynamite, Danielson and Okada would meet again, this time in tag team action with Orange Cassidy and Claudio Castagnoli as their tag team partners. As the match came to a close, Bryan would take both an Orange Punch and a Rainmaker, leading to Bryan going down holding his face. This was to sell an already broken orbital bone, which Danielson has since underwent surgery on.

At NJPW Power Struggle on November 4th, a video package would play featuring Danielson wearing a bandage over his eye. In the promo, he would tell Okada what he wanted was to break his arm and to take away the Rainmaker from him, challenging the Japanese star to a rematch. This time, Bryan wants the match in the Tokyo Dome for Wrestle Kingdom 18 in January of next year.

"I'm challenging you right now for January 4th, Wrestle Kingdom at Tokyo Dome. You and me, one on one, and I'm going to get my revenge. I'm going to break your right arm, and you'll never be able to do the Rainmaker ever again."

Fellow Blackpool Combat Club member Claudio Castagnoli has sworn revenge on Okada since the injury to Danielson occurred, but a date has yet to be set for a clash between the two men.

Danielson is expected to be on the shelf until at least the end of 2023.
