Final words from Bryan Danielson and Swerve Strickland.
Bryan Danielson and Swerve Strickland had their Final Showdown on the August 21st episode of AEW Dynamite.
Nigel McGuinness moderated the showdown, and brought out Swerve to give comments before Danielson arrived. Swerve ran down the list of competitors he's beaten on the way to becoming AEW World Champion and retaining. Swerve stated that he felt disrespected by Bryan, who keeps doing interviews saying he's ready to retire. Swerve said that Bryan wouldn't take that (retiring Danielson) from him. Swerve said that he's doing to do something to Danielson to make sure he doesn't get the itch to get back in the ring, but that if Bryan ever thought about wrestling again, he was going to be there. Swerve said if Bryan thought about sitting down with his wife and family to discuss a potential return, Swerve was going to be there.
