Carlito made a surprise appearance at the WWE Royal Rumble, returning to WWE for the first time since 2010. The following night on Raw, Carlito teamed with Jeff Hardy and picked up a victory over Jaxson Ryker & Elias. It was also reported by PWInsider that Carlito could be getting a tryout as a WWE producer.
According to Carlito, talks of him being a producer never materialized.
“It was just the Rumble and I think the day before the Rumble they asked if I can do Raw too and I said 'yeah, sure, whatever you guys need.' That’s all we talked about. It was Raw and the Rumble. I’ve had no communication since the Raw appearance," Carlito told the Angle Podcast. Carlito also stated he's had no talks with AEW, but he's willing to listen to any company with an idea.
When asked if he'd be interested in being a producer, Carlito said, "Yeah. A producer role or a trainer role. All of that kind of sounds intriguing. I’m willing to listen to whatever at this point, but I think those would be interesting helping out the younger guys and help them develop, which would be something new for me. I think I’d find it fun to do.”
It is unknown if Carlito will return to WWE in some capacity in the future.
