Carmelo Hayes took his frustrations out on Joe Gacy.
On the February 6 episode of WWE NXT, Carmelo Hayes explained his actions and confirmed that he was the one who attacked Trick Williams months ago. During the show, NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov called Hayes out, but Dijak answered instead. They brawled, setting up a heated clash in the main event.
Dragunov went on to defeat Dijak, thanks to some help from Joe Gacy, who hit Dijak while the referee wasn't looking. After the bell, Hayes attacked Dragunov and blasted him with the NXT Championship.
As seen in an NXT Exclusive, after NXT went off the air, Gacy played to the crowd. Hayes, who was still celebrating his successful night, went out of his way to drop Gacy. He then walked away.
