Chris Jericho And Sammy Guevara Agree To Face Each Other On 9/20 AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam

Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara will finally face each other on AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam.

Tensions between longtime allies Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara have been rising in recent weeks. The Jericho Appreciation Society broke up, but Guevara stood by Jericho's side. He accompanied Jericho to the ring at AEW All In, where Jericho lost to Will Ospreay. On the August 30 episode of AEW Dynamite, Jericho blamed Guevara for his loss, and they traded verbal shots. They nearly came to blows, but Jericho pitched reuniting their Le Sex Gods tag team instead.

On the September 6 episode of AEW Dynamite, Jericho and Guevara defeated Aussie Open (Mark Davis and Kyle Fletcher) despite their apparent struggles to get on the same page. Guevara pushed Jericho and walked out on him after the match.

Guevara then confronted Jericho on the September 8 episode of AEW Rampage. They admitted that they were quite frustrated with each other. Both men said they wanted to punch each other. Jericho suggested that they should face each other so they can work out their issues in a fight. Guevara agreed, and when Jericho named AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam as the place, Guevara accepted.
