Chris Jericho is set to star in an upcoming movie.
Andreas Wiseman of Deadline reports that the former AEW World Champion will lead the cast in 'Dark Match', a wrestling-themed horror movie by Dept. 9 Studios. Ayisha Issa, Steven Ogg, , Sara Canning, Michael Eklund, and Jonathan Cherry have also been cast in the film. Jericho commented on the news in a tweet.

Per Wiseman, 'Dark Match' features a small-time wrestling company travel to a backwoods town for a show, and they ultimately that the leader of a mysterious cult has "devious plans" for their event.
Writer and director Lowell Dean expressed his excitement about the movie and noted that it was a "blast" to film in Edmonton, Canada. John MacDonald is the producer of the film; along with Jericho, he is one of the movie's two executive producers. Dept. 9 producers Don Depoe and Michael Feehan, as well as Rhonda Baker and Michael Peterson, are also working on 'Dark Match'
