Christian Cage is in AEW and he's ready to prove to everyone that he's still got it.
Christian was forced to retire in 2014 due to concussion injuries, but made a surprise appearance at the 2021 Royal Rumble. Christian lasted just over 18 minutes in the Rumble and was one of the final four wrestlers in the match.
At AEW Revolution, Christian signed a long-term deal with AEW to be a wrestler and also help backstage.
Speaking to Renee Paquette on Oral Sessions, Christian explained that he is back to prove to everyone that he is one of the best to ever lace up the boots.
"If I didn't have the confidence that I would be able to go like I did, I wouldn't be attempting this. One thing I take pride in is, if my name is on something and I'm involved in it, then I'm all in. It's no different here. I'm coming back to prove that I'm one of the best, in my mind, to ever do this. It's what I was born to do. I'm coming back to prove that and prove to the fans. In a weird sense, my body has been preserved for seven years. All the nagging injuries have kind of healed and I feel good, physically and mentally. If I couldn't do this at the highest level, I wouldn't even attempt it. I couldn't do that to the fans, myself, or the company," he said.
Elsewhere during the podcast, Christian discussed the conversations he had with Tony Khan and Jon Moxley that led him to join AEW. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
