Christopher Daniels steps in.
AEW EVPs Matthew and Nicholas Jackson came to the May 29 AEW Dynamite and planned to throw their weight around but they were in for a rude awakening.
The EVPs officially stripped the injured Adam Copeland of the AEW TNT Title and planned on giving the belt to their Elite stablemate, Jack Perry but they were stopped by Christopher Daniels.
Daniels noted that the last time he saw them, The Young Bucks had tried to give Daniels a severance package. However, he no longer needs that package because Tony Khan has made him the interim AEW EVP and says that his decisions are coming directly from Khan.
Daniels announces that they will not be gifting anyone the TNT Title. Instead, there will be a tournament held over the course of the next several weeks with the winners of their respective matches going on to face off at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door in a Ladder Match.
Daniels said the first match would take place on AEW Friday Night Rampage but didn't officially announce the match.
The Elite then tried to beat up Daniels who was saved by Billy Gunn, Anthony Bowens, and Max Caster, The Acclaimed.
Just before The Elite could award Jack Perry the #TNT Championship, "The Fallen Angel" returned to make a HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT!
