CM Punk and Roman Reigns came together at WWE Survivor Series, uniting as a favor to Paul Heyman. The two men teamed with Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, and Sami Zayn to defeat Jacob Fatu, Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Bronson Reed.
Reigns made his debut as a member of The Shield in 2012 alongside Seth Rollins and Jon Moxley (Dean Ambrose in WWE) as a mercenary for Punk. When Punk left WWE in 2014, he infamously said that the goal was to make Roman look strong.
A decade later, Roman is a multi-time WWE Champion and headlined multiple WrestleManias.
Asked about Roman's rise while he's been away from WWE, Punk replied, "No comment" during the WWE Survivor Series press conference.
That settles that.
