The rematch between Cody Rhodes and Nick Aldis has been set.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, the rematch will take place at the NWA 70th Anniversary Show on Oct. 21. The event will be held at the Nashville Fairgrounds. Tickets for the celebration go on-sale next Friday, Sept. 14.
Rhodes won the NWA World Heavyweight from Aldis this past Saturday at All In in a match that received rave reviews. The bout was hot from the start with the Chicago crowd throwing their support behind Cody, thanks in part due to his involvement in setting up the event. Rhodes, who was busted open following a leap to the outside, secured the victory by countering a sunset flip with a sitdown pinfall.
Their All In bout also saw a run in by Diamond Dallas Page, who hit a diamond cutter on Shawn Daivari, and Brandi Rhodes taking a top rope elbow by Aldis.
Cody's victory marked the first time ever a father-son duo have won the NWA World Heavyweight Title. His father Dusty won the belt in 1979.
