Cody Rhodes reflects on bringing out Tom Aspinall at a recent WWE live event.
At a WWE live event in Manchester, England earlier this month, Cody Rhodes and Gunther would share the ring with another world champion, as interim UFC Heavyweight Champion Tom Aspinall was brought out in front of his hometown crowd. The trio would shake hands and take photos together during the appearance.
While speaking on a recent Vlog on WWE's YouTube channel, WWE Champion Cody Rhodes reflected on the moment with the UFC champion.
"The fan bases are very, very different in terms of who comes to WWE, who comes to UFC. However, the mission is very much the same, just taking over the globe in terms of sport and in terms of sport entertainment. This was just the perfect match. I was so happy, when I found out that I would be the one to bring Tom out. That was just a really great thing for all of us and happy to do it and hope we do more of it. But as we know, the audience is very different. Not everybody gets the big pop. We got to give it to Tom. Tom got the big, big superstar pop. So that's a really good start and we may have to just end it there."
