Cora Jade scored a major win in her return to the ring.
Cora Jade made her return to NXT at NXT Deadline, as she attacked NXT Women's Champion Lyra Valkyria and set her sights on the gold. Jade discussed her comeback on the December 12 episode of WWE NXT. When Valkyria interrupted her, both Blair Davenport and Nikkita Lyons got involved, and a brawl set the stage for a tag team match, where Davenport and Jade faced Valkyria and Lyons.
The two teams clashed later in the show, and after Tatum Paxley distracted Valkyria, Jade pinned the champion to win her first match since the July 25 episode of WWE NXT.

The match also marked Nikkita Lyons' return to the ring. She had been sidelined since January following surgery on her torn ACL and meniscus. Lyons returned on the December 5 episode of NXT and took the fight to Davenport, who previously took her out with an attack in the parking lot.
