On January 27, PWInsider reported that Dakota Kai was pulled off the road.
The report stated, "we are told that Kai was "hurt" during her tag team bout with IYO SKY against Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler. One person we spoke with believes it may have been the rough bump she took on a missile dropkick.
On her Instagram stories, Kai said, "I really appreciate all the love and support you guys shows me. It really helps get through these dips and harder times. I feel good."

It is unknown when Kai will return to the ring.
