Wes Lee has named three of his four challengers and is leaving the last one up to fate.
Wes Lee will defend the NXT North American Title at NXT Stand & Deliver against four other challengers in a Fatal 5-Way. Shawn Michaels had previously stated that Lee was allowed to name his challengers, and on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, Wes Lee named three of his challengers.
Dragon Lee, the latest signee to NXT, stepped up to Lee and was given a spot in the match, and after, Lee was confronted by JD McDonagh. McDonagh prepared for a match with Ilja Dragunov and confronted the North American Champion.
The subsequent match between Dragunov and McDonagh ended in a four-way brawl, with Wes Lee, McDonagh, Dragunov, and Dragon all getting physical. This led to Wes Lee giving Ilja Dragunov and JD McDonagh the next two free spots.
