Drew McIntyre is taking time to rest.
Jason Powell of ProWrestling.net first reported that Drew McIntyre was being pulled from weekend live events due to lower back soreness. The move is considered precautionary.
Fightful Select has confirmed the report, adding that surgery isn't expected and that he just needs to rest up.
McIntyre was present on Friday's WWE SmackDown, where he was involved in multiple segments, including teaming with Madcap Moss to defeat The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso).
McIntyre is still scheduled to challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WWE Clash at the Castle on September 3.
