Jay White says Adam Page is jealous of his championship.
At Strong Style Evolved, Jay White will be defending his IWGP United States Champion against Adam Page. In a recent interview with Fightful, Page said White made a mistake by not joining Bullet Club when he had a chance. White also spoke with Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp about the possibility of joining Bullet Club and Page's comments.
"You never know what's going to happen down the track. A year ago, would people have thought I'd beat Kenny Omega for this title, I doubt that," said White. "Saying not joining wasn't a good decision...I don't know why, I've got the championship he's coming after so I think that decision worked out pretty good for me, put myself in a main event position against the guy that people consider to be the best wrestler in the world," he continued.
When White won his championship, he was attacked by Adam Page which inspired their match at Strong Style Evolved to be created. White said he was attacked out of jealousy.
"I take that more of a little bit of jealousy that he could have done that himself. I guess that's why he also came and charged me afterwards. Being in the Bullet Club, I feel like it limits him," said White. "He limits himself by teaming with the Young Bucks, popular guys but he's going to constantly be in the Young Bucks' shadow and Cody's shadow," he added.
In the rest of the interview, Jay White spoke about the Strong Style Evolved event and his experiences touring the world with Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling.
