A current champion in TNA was backstage at NXT.
Multiple TNA stars appeared on-screen on the July 9 episode of NXT; The Rascalz (Zachary Wentz and Trey Miguel) reunited with Wes Lee, and Joe Hendry teamed up with Trick Williams to defeat Shawn Spears and NXT Champion Ethan Page. They weren't the only TNA stars in attendance.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp has confirmed that TNA Digital Media Champion AJ Francis was backstage at the taping. Francis, formerly known as Top Dolla in WWE, has had two stints with the company. He had a prominent run as a member of Hit Row before he was released in a round of cuts in November 2021. Francis returned to WWE in August 2022, but he was released again in September 2023. He made his TNA debut at TNA Hard To Kill in January 2024, and he has become a featured member of the roster.
There is no word on whether Francis is planned for an on-screen appearance in NXT, but he has openly expressed his interest, and TNA continues to work with NXT as stars from both rosters continue to cross over.
