Alex Grayson discusses the Irish wrestling scene.
In recent years, the Irish wrestling scene has developed significantly, with multiple promotions joined OTT in the realm of promotions in the country.
While speaking to Fightful's Corey Brennan in a recent interview, Grayson was asked about what it's like to be a wrestler breaking into the scene like he is.
"It's hopeful. It's really hopeful. I've been training for eight years so I've been around and it kind of took me a little bit longer to kind of leave my impression on OTT. I'd originally made my debut right after COVID and then, unfortunately, I ran into an injury and I was gone for pretty much over a year. So there were some guys like Cian who were only coming in when I had made my way onto OTT. Then I got so sidelined that by the time I came back, people like Cian are now on OTT. So there's a little bit of a chip there to be like, well, you know, I was here before you. You know, I have a little bit more experience than you do. And I'll show it, you know, if I ever get to. to meet them on a show ring, you know, that kind of way. But it's good. Irish wrestling feels pretty prosperous again. It's obviously after COVID it was a bit rough for every wrestling promotion. It kind of gets wheels moving. But I would say kind of from my return, last year's onwards have been pretty consistent. I feel like the shows have been on a really good roll."
Grayson is currently scheduled to team with rival CJ West at OTT Spankdown this weekend.
Elsewhere in the same interview with Fightful, Grayson spoke on how Finn Balor inspired him while he was wrestling in Japan. You can read more about that here.
