Members of the NXT roster are getting some insight this week from a versatile WWE veteran.
Fightful.com has learned that Fightful Podcast alumni and former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Shane "Hurricane" Helms is in Orlando this week, serving as a guest coach at WWE's Performance Center. Helms has worked in singles, tag team, heavyweight, cruiserweight, comedic and serious roles during his two-plus decades in wrestling, and has promoted OMEGA shows of his own as well.
Helms has been seen a little bit of everywhere this year. He made a one-off WWE return at this year's Royal Rumble, which saw him go face-to-face with John Cena. He worked AroLucha in January, House of Hardcore in the spring, and has become a recurring character on the popular "Being The Elite" web series. He's also worked a series of matches on Ring of Honor TV as he feuds with "The Villian" Marty Scurll, and was featured in the All In: Zero Hour Over Budget Battle Royal, where he chokeslammed ROH's Punishment Martinez and IMPACT/Lucha Underground's Brian Cage.
"Hurricane" was had a prominent role backstage with Impact Wrestling until a major regime change pushed him out in 2017.
