Paul London compares MLW Battle Riot to Lord Of The Rings.
MLW's seventh Battle Riot event will take place in Los Angeles on Saturday, April 5. As it currently stands, stars like Matt Riddle, Paul Walter Hauser, Tom Lawlor, Donovan Dijak, and Alex Kane have been announced for the match.
Wrestling legend Paul London will also take part in the match. This will be London's first time participating in a Royal Rumble style match since 2014, when he took part in Preston City Wrestling's version of the match.
While chatting with Jeremy Lambert and SP3 of Fightful Overbooked's In The Weeds podcast for a new interview, London compared the Battle Riot match to Miami Vice and Lord Of The Rings.
"You’re with people you know, friends, on this quest. You have to know that greed can get to any one of them at any moment. Maybe I clear the ring, [Kevin] Nash style. Super possible. Maybe it’s just me and [Paul Walter Hauser]. He comes down and I’m like, ’Let’s hold fort back-to-back. We’re like Crocket and Tubbs. I’m Crocket. We clear house, Miami Vice style, but I have to know that I can’t trust even my own partner. He could turn into Sean Bean and want to take the whole thing for himself. I don’t blame him. I could turn into Sean Bean. I could turn into Smeagol. Who knows. It should be the precious riot. There is only one ring!"
Elsewhere in the interview, London recalled cutting an iconic promo with Bryan Danielson in 2009. Check out his full comments by clicking here.
