Sami Zayn Doesn't See Kevin Owens Ever Using The Steenalizer In A WWE Ring, 'May It Rest In Peace'

Sami Zayn doesn't ever think Kevin Owens will get the chance to bust out the Steenalizer in a WWE ring.

For the most part, Kevin Owens was allowed to retain the same presence and idiosyncrasies he used to make a name for himself on the independent circuit when he joined WWE in 2014. However, a few of the signature moves had to be altered or just flat-out removed from his arsenal

One such move was the Steenalizer. For those unfamiliar, the Steenalizer is the move that would see Kevin pick his opponent up in a Powerbomb position, reach his hands up, and cradle their neck before falling backward and tossing them into either a turnbuckle or just onto the ring mat.

Asked about this move during a recent interview with Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp, Sami Zayn, Kevin's close friend and someone who has wrestled him at every stage in his career said it's very unlikely that that move ever comes to WWE.

"I don’t see that one coming to WWE. That one has to go. You need a certain type of opponent and we don’t have a lot of those types of opponents in WWE. There is a lot of stuff you have to let go of at a certain point. Sometimes, I’ll see footage of old stuff we used to do and there is a reason that stuff stops. You have to enjoy it while it’s there. We had the Steenilizer. May it rest in peace," said Zayn.

Elsewhere in this interview, Zayn spoke about getting clearance to hit one of his old indie wrestling signature moves, the Brainbustah on Gunther at WWE WrestleMania XL. Read those comments here.
