The new WWE headquarters comes with a big centerpiece in front of the building.
Stamford Advocate wrote a feature article on a a 7-foot-tall monument of the WWE Championship that now sits in front of WWE HQ.
"That's a big (expletive) belt," said Kevin Grandison, who also lives in New Haven and works in Stamford. "I think it's cool. I think it fits with the building."
The monument is not complete as flooring and more decorations will be added. The art will also serve as a bench as the straps will lay flat.
Lauren Meyer, special assistant to Mayor Caroline Simmons, said the building permit for the monument was issued by the city on November 23, 2022. Various departments were included in the review process, including the fire marshal, Environmental Protection Board, Zoning Board, zoning enforcement, and the building department.
Concreteworks East is listed as the fabricator of the structure, while New York-based Craft Engineering Studio is the structural engineer.
WWE is still completing its move to the offices at 677-707 Washington Blvd.
