Great-O-Khan Says IWGP Tag Team Titles Will Be Vacated Due To HENARE's Injury

The IWGP Tag Team Championships have been vacated due to an injury to HENARE.

Great-O-Khan made the announcement backstage at the December 6th NJPW World Tag League event. He also stated the match with the Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson & Nicholas Jackson) at NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty has been canceled.

"We were the sole leader in the WTL and were the closest to winning. However, [HENARE] was injured the day before the final match and lost everything. I will probably have to give up the belt. The January 5th Tokyo Dome will also be canceled," he said.

NJPW announced a knee injury to HENARE on December 5th.

NJPW World Tag League is set to conclude on December 8th with Tetsuya Naito & Hiromu Takahashi facing Gabe Kidd & SANADA in the finals. The winning team were set to challenge Great-O-Khan and HENARE for the IWGP Tag Team Championships at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom on January 4th.

The Young Bucks were scheduled to challenge for the titles at NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty on January 5th.
