KENTA is returning home.
Last week a report came out by way of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE came to an agreement with Pro Wrestling NOAH which will allow current 205 Live star Hideo Itami to return to Pro Wrestling NOAH where he was a former 3-time GHC Junior Heavyweight Champion.
Itami, formerly known as KENTA was a part of Pro Wrestling NOAH for nearly fourteen years where he captured a number of championships and added a great deal of accomplishments to his resume competing for the promotion. In 2014 with the approval of Pro Wrestling NOAH, KENTA tried out for WWE and six months after the tryout it was revealed that KENTA did indeed sign with the company and was soon given his new name under the WWE banner, Hideo Itami.
During today's Pro Wrestling NOAH show it was announced that Itami will be headlining the Naomichi Marufuji 20th anniversary show on September 1st at 'Sumo Hall' against Marufuji himself. Marufuji and Itami were once tag team partners and are also remembered for their war over the GHC Heavyweight Championship at Pro Wrestling NOAH's 'Autumn Navigation' show in 2006. The two men will meet in the squared circle once again in three months to celebrate the 20-year career of a man who some refer to as "NOAH's Genius" Naomichi Marufuji.
