Hiromu Takahashi Suffers Torn Pectoral, Out For An Estimated Six Months

Tough news for Hiromu Takahashi.

NJPW announced Takahashi suffered a torn pectoral and will be out of action for an estimated six months. Takahashi sustained the injury on February 19 when he teamed with Shingo Takagi against Kota Ibushi & Tomoaki Honma. He was pulled from the February 20 event as a result of the injury.

Takahashi is the reigning IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion. He was scheduled to team with BUSHI to challenge Taiji Ishimori & El Phantasmo for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Titles on February 25 Road to Castle Attack event. He was then scheduled to defend the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title against El Phantasmo at the February 28 Castle Attack event.

At the February 22 Road to Castle Attack event, El Desperado and Yoshinobu Kanemaru attacked ELP & Ishimori, challenging them to an IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Title bout. NJPW has yet to make the match official.
