Jeff Jarrett comments on signing his final contract as a wrestler.
Jeff Jarrett entered the professional wrestling industry in 1986, and by the time he's 40, he will have been a professional wrestler for 40 years. "The King of the Mountain recently disclosed that he signed his final wrestling contract, which was for one year.
With the clock winding down on his career, Jeff Jarrett was recently asked by Bill Pritchard of WrestleZone about what the expectations are for his final run as a wrestler. In response, Jeff said this final run is all about not having regrets and ensuring the fans get their money's worth.
"I learned from an early, early age, the wrestling fans are what put groceries on the table. So, if they're going to spend their money to come. Buy a ticket, buy a t-shirt, nowadays, buy pay-per-view, whatever it may be. You gotta give them their money's worth at the end of the day. I don't ever want to be sitting, proverbially, on the rocking chair and say, 'Man, I wish I would have...' fill in the blank. So, living with no regrets, and so my mind's made up. It got made up right at the end of the year. We'll see what the year brings. January was super busy, and a lot of moving parts, and I'm reevaluating as the story goes now, but we'll see where the future takes me."
When asked if he had started thinking about his final match or opponent, "Double J" said he hadn't thought that far ahead and was just waiting for his next opportunity, whenever that may come in AEW.
"[I haven't thought about that] at all. Yeah, I'll say this as of today, March 5, as we're headed into Revolution now, I'll be a part of Zero Hour. I certainly don't have any of that [figured out]. I'm looking, like I always have, looking for the next opportunity, whether it comes next Wednesday or the following Wednesday or Saturday, whatever it may be."
Jeff Jarrett also recently got on the Advisory Board of the resurrected video game publishing company Acclaim. Learn more about that here.
