Jim Ross Thinks "Roles Are Reversed" Between Charlotte Flair And Becky Lynch

Ross says the fans revolt when they see through the plans of WWE.

At WWE SummerSlam, Charlotte Flair pinned Becky Lynch to become Smackdown Women's Champion in a triple threat match. After the match, Lynch attacked long time friend Charlotte Flair. The fans cheered but over the week it became apparent WWE wanted her to play the villain in the storyline.

In an interview with Busted Open Radio, Jim Ross was asked about the situation and the storyline between Flair and Lynch.

"I think obviously both of them are main event level folks. I think based on the crowd reaction which I still weigh heavily. It's like a market report, a focus group...I think the roles are reversed a little. I think Charlotte has a great personality to be a heel and I think she would have a blast doing it...and I think Becky is perfect to be a fan favorite," said Ross.

The sizes of Flair and Lynch were one thing Ross said affects the way fans view the feud because Flair is significantly taller than Lynch. He was also asked if he thought the fans would rebel against the Lynch storyline like with Daniel Bryan leading up to WrestleMania 30.

"The audience is very defiant and this issue is so clear cut as to what the precondition of what the WWE wants it to be that fans are now able to see through that and they revolt," said Ross.

Also during the interview, Ross praised Lynch's promo from Smackdown and said the two of them exchanged text messages a few times before and after SummerSlam.
