Jinder Mahal Thanks Tony Khan For Making Match With Seth Rollins More Interesting

Jinder Mahal looks back on Tony Khan's tweets.

Jinder Mahal challenged Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the January 15th episode of WWE Raw despite not winning a main roster singles match since June 2022. On social media, AEW president Tony Khan pointed out Jinder's poor win-loss record over the past year, believing people were being hypocritical by questioning HOOK receiving a shot at the AEW World Title, but not questioning Jinder.

Speaking to Chris Van Vliet on Insight (recorded before his WWE release), Mahal was asked about Tony's tweets and where he was when he caught wind of them.

"I was at home, I think it was early in the day. Drew had texted me. I got a bunch of texts in a row and I was like, 'What? I have to see this.' I opened Twitter and saw it [laughs]. Thank you, Tony. You made the match with Seth more interesting. People thought I was going to win it just to spite Tony. I was surprised, everyone stuck up for me, it never happened before," said Jinder.

Jinder Mahal deleted his tweet in response to Tony, asking who HOOK was.

Mahal was released by WWE on April 19.
