Kayla Harrison: Pro Wrestling Is Not A Challenge. I'd Throw Chris Jericho Around By His Hair

Kayla Harrison isn't interested in beating up nerds, but could totally do it.

Kayla Harrison is one of the top fighters in the PFL and is also a member of American Top Team. For professional wrestling fans, American Top Team is currently the heel mixed martial arts group invading AEW with names like Junior dos Santos and Jorge Masvidal target and Chris Jericho with Dan Lambert encouraging the chaos because he says he doesn't like what wrestling and wrestling fans have become.

AEW Extends TV Rights Deal With ITV In The UK

While that is what Dan Lambert says on television, away from television he's actually a great fan of professional wrestling. Kayla Harrison on the other hand is legitimately not a fan of professional wrestling. Despite this, Dan Lambert recently said that she would be perfect for wrestling because she is "kind of an asshole."

Now, Kayla Harrison explains, during the MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, why she is not interested in professional wrestling, believing that she could beat up all the men without it being a work.

“It would just be too easy, don't you think? There are levels and we would just be on a different level. That's why I'm not interested. Because, what's the fun in that? I want an actual challenge. Going and beating up people who hang out in their mom's basement is like, 'cool,'” she said dismissively. "I would beat up all the guys on those rosters, 100%. I know everyone's like, ‘Oh, girls can't beat up guys.’ Chris Jericho? I would eat him for breakfast. Are you kidding me? That old, washed-up has-been, are you kidding me? I would grab him by his hair and throw him around.”

She added, “I could do that. No problem. It wouldn't even be a work, it would be real. That's what I'm saying.”

On a previous appearance on the show, she opened up about WWE approaching her after the 2016 Olympics. Ultimately, she declined because she didn't like the travel and she didn't like that due to the scripted nature of professional wrestling, she wouldn't get to decide the fate of her character.

“[WWE] actually reached out to me after the 2016 Olympics. There are two things I didn't like. Number one, I would have to be on the road for four days a week. There's a lot of travel. Number two, you're not in control of the script, so they would get to decide whether I was a good guy or a bad guy. So I decided, ‘Eh, I will just be me.’

Other members of American Top Team will be in tag team action at AEW Full Gear against Chris Jericho and the Inner Circle provided that Sammy Guevara defeats Ethan Page on this week's episode of Dynamite.
