Konnan was hoping for a big surprise at AAA TripleMania Regia.
Cain Velasquez is set to compete on Saturday at AAA TripleMania Regia when he teams with Pagano and Psycho Clown to battle L.A. Park, Rey Escorpión and Taurus.
According to Konnan on Keepin It 100, he was hoping to have Junior dos Santos confront Valesquez after the bout, but the two sides couldn't work out a deal due to Dos Santos' fight commitment.
"Let me tell you something that we couldn't get done. We wanted to get, after the match, Junior dos Santos was going to come out and challenge Cain, but Junior is in a boxing match and making a lot of fucking money, it's ridiculous. He can't do it," he said.
JDS and Velasquez headlined the first-ever UFC on FOX show with JDS finishing Valesquez in 64 seconds by KO. Valesquez would avenge the loss, winning a unanimous decision and then stopping JDS in the fifth round in the rubber match.
JDS has wrestled twice for AEW and is set to compete on an upcoming Triller card.
Dan Lambert recently noted that he wanted Cain to join JDS and fight for the same team in AEW.
