Kota Ibushi wants to wrestle in AEW, and competing for the company is still one of his top goals.
Ibushi has expressed his interest in wrestling for AEW on multiple occasions. He left NJPW when his contract expired at the end of January, and the former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, who had been sidelined with a shoulder injury since October 2021, returned to the ring during The Collective 2023. He competed at Josh Barnett's Bloodsport 9 and Joey Janela's Spring Break 7.
Per Dark Puroresu Flowsion, who spoke with Ibushi, the former NJPW star's main goals and focuses are to wrestle in AEW and coach/open schools. Ibushi remains determined to build future stars from all over the world, and he also wants to work with MMA promotion Rizin Fighting Federation if they can reach a deal.
