Kurt Angle has nothing but respect for Dean Malenko.
Dean Malenko and Kurt Angle are two of the most technically proficient professional wrestlers ever. Malenko arrived in WWE in 2000, Kurt Angle's first full year on the main roster. Although most of their interactions would occur during Dean's time as a producer for WWE, Angle says he looked up to Malenko and his in-ring style, noting that Dean was able to teach him a lot.
"I looked up to Dean more than anybody else. Him being 'The Man of 1,000 Holds,' a technical wrestler — I got so excited when Dean Malenko, Chris Benoit, and Eddie Guerrero were going to come to WWE because they were all great technical wrestlers. That's what I aspired to be. Knowing Dean was there, I knew I could learn a lot from him, and I did," said Angle on the most recent episode of his podcast, The Kurt Angle Show.
Today, Dean Malenko works with AEW. Kurt Angle has talked about how much he would have wanted to be paid for a 10-match agreement with AEW. Fans can learn more here.
