Both men have been a part of WWE for over a decade. In the case of Ziggler, he had been on TV for nearly twenty years, counting his time as Kerwin White's (Chavo Guerrero) golf caddy. Benjamin spent some time away from WWE but first appeared on main roster television in 2002.

Kurt Angle commented on the releases of both men on the most recent episode of The Kurt Angle Show podcast, saying that he was shocked to see both of them go and expects to see both of them continue on in wrestling for other promotions.

"I told Shelton, 'Good luck in your future endeavors.' He just said, 'Thanks, brother.' I was really shocked to see that, especially Dolph. What he's contributed to the business the last 12 years, it's nothing short of amazing, but also Shelton. Shelton is so incredible in that ring. I'm just surprised that they were let go. I understand. It's business, business is business. That's how it's gonna happen. I see them going to another promotion. They're not done with their careers yet," said Angle.

Many other legends in the industry, including The Rock, had praise for the recently released individuals, with a lot of names singling out Dolph Ziggler. Fans can read The Rock's comments here.

While Kurt Angle sees Dolph Ziggler and Shelton Benjamin continuing their careers in wrestling beyond WWE, he does not feel the same about Adam "Edge" Copeland. Read what Angle has to say about Edge at this link.
