Kurt Angle Jokes CM Punk Might Have Gotten Beaten Up By Hardcore Holly In The Attitude Era

Kurt Angle addresses how he thinks CM Punk would have fared in the Attitude Era and early Ruthless Aggression Era.

CM Punk would arrive at WWE in 2006 during the middle of the Ruthless Aggression era. He would become more of a standout during the company's PG era in the late 2000s and early 2010s. Speaking on the latest episode of his podcast, The Kurt Angle Show, the Olympic gold medalist was asked about how CM Punk would fare during the days when Angle was on top of WWE.

Angle was, of course, very complimentary of the former WWE Champion, but joked that he might have run afoul of Bob "Hardcore" Holly.

"Yeah, I think I think he would have fared well. He might have gotten beat up by Bob Holly," Angle said with a laugh. "Punk has a little bit of a reputation of not agreeing with everything. You know, but I will tell you this. He's very talented and cuts incredible promos. I think he would have done really well in the Attitude Era."

CM Punk recently returned to WWE after almost ten full years away. Fans can read Kurt Angle's thoughts on CM Punk's return here.
